Ok, so here is the thing. I’d really like to start going to a knitting group, or a book group, or just a “let’s have a brew and a chat” group. Unfortunately, everything I’ve found seems to be at a time I can’t make - I work until at least 6 (sometimes 8) on an evening, and for now at least I work Saturdays until 2. So ideally we’d be looking at late Saturday afternoons, or potentially Thursday evenings (I have Thursdays off work and volunteer every other week, so I have alternative Thursday evenings free).

To cut this short: as I can’t find a group to suit me, I was considering starting something up. Would anyone be interested? Message me here/reblog etc if you’d be up for it!

Thursday Next, The Eyre Affair

Take no heed of her…. She reads a lot of books.

Oh hells YES.

I’ve just finished re-reading The Eyre Affair and have moved onto Lost In A Good Book.  I’m not a rabid Fforde fan or anything (yet) - or else I’d be hotfooting down to Waterstones when he makes an appearance and stocking up on the full series - but damn, these books are good.  They’re kind of lit-sci-fi - alternate universe where everyone’s life revolves around literature, plus some time travel and a big scary corporation.  And puns.  A LOT of puns.  If you haven’t already had a peek at the series I’d highly recommend it.
